TAX RELIEF · WASHINGTON · SEATTLE, TACOMA, TRI-CITIES, YAKIMA & STATEWIDE

Washington tax relief: IRS debt and Department of Revenue problems, from a firm that's actually in Washington.

Washington has no state income tax, which is why most Washington tax problems are federal — and why the state problems that do exist hit business owners hardest: Department of Revenue B&O and sales tax, Employment Security assessments, and personal liability for collected sales tax that was never remitted. Our enrolled agents and tax attorneys are based in Spokane and serve the whole state by phone, with the first conversation free and every fee quoted in writing.

FEDERAL

IRS balances, unfiled returns, garnishments, audits, and payroll tax problems for individuals and small businesses statewide.

WASHINGTON

Department of Revenue excise tax balances, sales and B&O tax audits, Employment Security Department assessments, and trust-fund liability for collected sales tax.

HOW WE WORK

Spokane clients can meet in person; Seattle, Tacoma, Tri-Cities, and Yakima clients get identical service by phone and secure document upload.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps.
Federal and state.

Most Washington cases are federal. When a state issue is in the mix, it's almost always a business tax, and it needs its own track.

1

Free case review

Individual or business, IRS or Department of Revenue. We sort the notices and identify which agency, which years, and how urgent.

2

Transcripts and records

IRS account transcripts with your authorization, plus your Department of Revenue account activity for business cases — so nothing is estimated.

3

Stop active collection

Wage garnishments and bank levies from the IRS, or tax warrants and levies from the Department of Revenue, are addressed first while a resolution is arranged.

4

Resolve and stay current

Payment plans, hardship status, penalty relief, offers in compromise where you qualify, and a filing system so the business never falls behind on excise returns again.

Collected sales tax isn't the business's money. Washington treats it that way.

Like the IRS with payroll withholding, Washington can hold responsible individuals personally liable for retail sales tax a business collected from customers and failed to remit. Closing the business doesn't end that exposure — it's often what triggers the assessment.

If you're a Washington business owner behind on excise returns, the order of operations matters: get current filings in, then negotiate the balance, before the state decides who is personally on the hook. That's work we do alongside any federal payroll case.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PLAINLY

What Washington taxpayers
ask us.

I don't own a business. Is my problem federal or state?

Almost certainly federal. Without a state income tax, Washington individuals rarely owe the state anything outside specific situations like the capital gains excise tax on large gains. The IRS side is where we focus for most individuals.

Can you represent my business before the Washington Department of Revenue?

Yes. With your signed confidential tax information authorization on file, we correspond with the Department on your behalf on excise tax audits, balances, and payment arrangements.

What is a tax warrant?

Washington's version of a tax lien. Once the Department of Revenue files one with the county, it becomes a public record and the state can garnish or levy without going back to court. Warrants can be resolved through payment arrangements.

I'm in Seattle. Does it matter that you're in Spokane?

No. IRS work happens by phone, fax, and mail regardless of location, and Department of Revenue matters are handled the same way. Being in-state means we know the agencies; being remote is how we keep fees down.

Do you handle Employment Security and L&I too?

We handle Employment Security Department tax assessments alongside Department of Revenue matters. Labor & Industries premium disputes are assessed case by case.
