OFFER IN COMPROMISE · SPOKANE, WA & THE INLAND NORTHWEST

Offer in Compromise help in Spokane: settle IRS debt for less than you owe, if you qualify.

An Offer in Compromise is a real IRS program, not a marketing slogan. It lets certain taxpayers settle federal tax debt for less than the full balance — but only when the numbers show you genuinely can't pay in full. Our enrolled agents and tax attorneys run those numbers first and tell you the truth before you spend a dollar.

Licensed to represent taxpayers before the IRS · Flat fees, quoted in writing before any work begins

WHAT IT IS

An agreement with the IRS to accept less than the full amount you owe, based on what you can realistically pay.

WHO QUALIFIES

Taxpayers whose income, expenses, and assets show they can't pay the full balance before the IRS's time to collect runs out.

WHAT IT COSTS TO START

Nothing. The first case review is free, and we only propose an offer if the math supports it.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps.
No false promises.

We evaluate before we advocate. Every offer we file is built on your real financial picture, and every fee is quoted in writing before work begins.

1

Free case review

A confidential conversation about your balance, your income, and what has already happened with the IRS.

2

Transcript investigation

With your authorization, we pull your IRS account transcripts to confirm what you owe, which years are open, and how long the IRS has left to collect.

3

Reasonable collection potential

We calculate what the IRS calls your reasonable collection potential — the number that decides whether an offer is viable. If it isn't, we say so and recommend a payment plan or hardship status instead.

4

Offer, negotiation, follow-through

We prepare Form 656 and the financial statements, submit the offer, handle every IRS request while it's under review, and keep you compliant through the five-year period that follows acceptance.

Most people don't qualify for an offer. Here's how you'll know.

Nationwide tax relief firms advertise settlements for pennies on the dollar because it sells. The IRS accepts a minority of the offers it receives, and the ones it accepts are backed by documented financials, not negotiating bravado. If you have equity in a home, retirement savings, or income above your allowable living expenses, the IRS expects that money before it discounts anything.

That's why we run the numbers first. You'll know within the first conversation whether an offer is realistic, and if it isn't, we'll tell you what is — an installment agreement, penalty abatement, or currently-not-collectible status. There is no fee for hearing the truth.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED PLAINLY

What people ask us
about offers in compromise.

How much will the IRS accept?

There is no set percentage. The IRS calculates what it could collect from your income and assets over the remaining collection period, and an offer generally has to meet that figure. Two people with the same balance can get very different results because their finances differ.

Do I have to be current on my tax filings?

Yes. All required returns must be filed, and business owners must be current on estimated payments and payroll deposits before the IRS will consider an offer. If you have unfiled years, we handle those first.

What happens while the offer is under review?

Collection activity generally pauses while the IRS evaluates your offer, though penalties and interest keep accruing and a federal tax lien may still be filed. Reviews commonly take six to twelve months.

What if the offer is rejected?

You have the right to appeal within 30 days, and we handle that. If the appeal doesn't succeed, the work isn't wasted — the same financial analysis supports a payment plan or hardship status.

Do you work with clients outside Spokane?

Yes. Enrolled agents and tax attorneys can represent taxpayers before the IRS in any state, and most engagements happen by phone and secure document upload. We work with clients across Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana.
