How fast can a wage garnishment be stopped?
It depends on the case, but once we hold your power of attorney and can show the IRS a workable resolution, releases are often issued within days rather than weeks. Employers typically stop the withholding the pay period after they receive the release.
The IRS levied my bank account. Is the money gone?
Not yet. Your bank must hold levied funds for 21 days before sending them to the IRS. If we can establish a resolution or demonstrate economic hardship inside that window, the levy can be released and the funds returned.
Can the IRS take my whole paycheck?
No. The IRS leaves you an exempt amount based on your filing status and dependents — but it is small, often far less than your real living expenses. That's why an active garnishment is treated as urgent.
Will hiring you stop the IRS from contacting me?
Once you sign a power of attorney, the IRS is required to deal with us directly. The letters and calls come to our office instead of your kitchen table.
I'm in Idaho or Montana, not Washington. Can you help?
Yes. Federal representation isn't limited by state lines, and we handle garnishment and levy cases across Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana by phone and secure document upload.
